🌟 Brian Killeen 🌟
Aurelie Languages' Very Own International Superstar
Ladies and gentlemen, please remain calm. Yes, it's true. The Brian Killeen (singer, guitarist, songwriter and household name across Co. Laois) walks among us here at Aurélie Languages. Some of you may have shared a kettle with him without realising you were in the presence of greatness. That's fine. He's very humble about it. Mostly.
Based in Abbeyleix, Brian picked up a guitar at the tender age of 8 and, by his own admission, has been "endlessly obsessed" ever since. His early dream was to be the Angus Young type, just a man and his guitar. Thankfully for wedding guests everywhere, he also discovered he could sing. Beautifully. Annoyingly well, in fact.
📺 As Seen On TV
That's right. Brian has graced the nation's television screens, appearing alongside the Rosenallis National School robotics champions. That's the Laois team who took on the world at the VEX Robotics World Championship in St Louis, Missouri, and came home with a judges' award. A world-class team, and they were lucky enough to share the screen with Brian. We assume the robots asked for his autograph.
He has also performed on radio, done sound for other musicians, and lent his voice to hundreds of songwriting projects all over the world. Hundreds. Worldwide. We'd like to see Ed Sheeran fit in a day job at a language company.
💍 The Wedding Legend
Brian plays ceremonies and receptions all over Ireland, and the reviews are in. Couples report that their guests couldn't stop talking about him, and at least one guest loved him so much they booked him for their own wedding. That's not a career. That's a franchise.
🎶 Brian & Figs
When Brian isn't going solo, he teams up with Fiachra "Figs" Murphy on bass as the acoustic duo Brian & Figs. It's two instruments, two voices, and a set list so ambitious it has no business coming out of a two-piece. They've been playing together for over ten years, covering Day 2s, birthdays, engagement parties and, in one documented case, a wedding on top of a hill on the hottest day of the century. They survived. Legends don't melt.
🏆 Fun Facts
Started playing guitar at 8. Has not put it down since (unconfirmed, but we've never seen him without it).
Treats every song he sings as his own, including the ones couples request that aren't on his list.
Has more five-star wedding reviews than most of us have had hot dinners.
Currently accepting fan mail at the Aurélie Languages office. Please, no screaming in the corridors.
